Vintage Bottle - Mascarello Giuseppe Barolo 1958 0,70 lt. IMBOTTIGLIAMENTO CASALINGO - COD. 11038
*********************
Being the action of time unpredictable, Vintage Bottles are not sold as products intended for tasting, but as collector’s items whose value grows proportionally with the memories and meaning associated with the vintage shown on the label.
This specific bottle should be considered a home bottling. During the 1950s and 1960s, the Mascarello Giuseppe winery commonly sold its wine in demijohns to private customers, who would then bottle the wine themselves in their own cellars. Original labels were supplied together with the demijohns and were applied manually by the customers. The bottles used were not standardized and depended on personal availability, making each bottle unique in shape, glass and overall appearance.
There are countless occasions for which a gift like this is suitable, from a birthday to an anniversary, as well as corporate or wedding gifts.
For this reason, all bottles bearing the words Vintage Bottle in the title are sold exclusively for their collectible value and, although it may be plausible that uncorking them could still offer some emotion, the drinkability of the product is not guaranteed in any way.
The bottle you will receive is exactly the one shown in the photograph and all bottles for sale are physically available in our shop; should you require additional photographs or information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
LEGEND:
CLEAR COLOR: the wine has lost its original color and shows a faded or even transparent red appearance.
LOW LEVEL: the wine level has dropped due to evaporation caused by improper storage.
A wine showing one of these two characteristics in the title is almost certainly no longer drinkable.
