La vinificazione avviene in vasche di acciaio con macerazione sulle bucce per circa 15-18 giorni; l'affinamento prevede un lungo periodo in botti di rovere di media capacità, seguito da ulteriore riposo in bottiglia.
Alla vista si presenta di colore granato luminoso; al naso offre profumi complessi e invitanti con richiami di petali di rosa, bacche di ginepro e spezie fini; in bocca è armonico, elegante, con trama tannica setosa, buona struttura e lunga persistenza.
Si abbina molto bene a brasati, selvaggina, arrosti, carni rosse importanti e formaggi stagionati.
