nizza
Nizza DOCG is one of the most important and distinctive expressions of Piedmont Barbera, produced in a defined area around the town of Nizza Monferrato, in the heart of the Asti Monferrato.
It is made exclusively from Barbera grapes and stands out for stricter production requirements, including lower yields and a minimum aging period, which contribute to greater concentration and complexity.
On the nose, it offers an intense and deep profile, with notes of ripe cherry, plum, and berries, accompanied by spicy and balsamic nuances and, in aged versions, hints of vanilla and toast.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with the grape’s natural acidity well integrated with greater softness and more pronounced tannins compared to traditional Barbera. The result is a balanced, persistent wine with excellent aging potential.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, braised dishes, game, and aged cheeses, as well as rich Piedmontese cuisine.
In this category, you will find a selection of Nizza DOCG wines from various producers, ideal for those seeking high-quality, structured Barbera with aging potential.
